Marcel Gaumont studied under Sicard and Coutan. In 1908 he was awarded the Prix de Rome, in 1935 a gold medal and in 1937 a Grand Prix at the International Exhibition in Paris. He was also awarded the Croix de Guerre. In 1925 he was made a Chevalier and in 1938 an Officier
