Studied under Train and made his Salon début in 1878; awarded a bronze medal in 1882 and a silver at the Exposition Universelle of 1900. Genuys was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1889. He worked as a professor and assistant principal at the Limoges college for the decorative arts. Genuys designed the fountain
