Gery-Bichard studied under Gaucherel and Hedouin and made his Salon début in 1789 with thirteen engravings for Murger's Gypsy Life (La Vie de Bohème). He received a bronze medal award in 1885, followed by silver in 1889 and gold in 1891. He is also known to have engraved frontispieces for a number of
