Born c. 1596, in Haarlem; died 1644.

Engraver. Mythological subjects.

He was the son of Jacob de Gheyn II. A keen traveller, he visited Italy as a young man, and was active in The Hague in 1616. He journeyed to Sweden in 1620, but had returned to The Hague by 1627. He engraved mostly mythological subjects, including a Hercules and Fortune.
