Born 1703, in Molfetta (Apulia); died 1765, in Naples.

Painter, fresco artist. History painting, religious subjects, allegorical subjects, mythological subjects, portraits.

Neapolitan School.

After studying under Solimena, Giaquinto undertook further training with Sebastiano Conca in Rome in 1723. He lived in Turin in 1733 and became a member of the Accademia di San Luca in 1735, later leaving for Madrid
