Painter. History painting.

Antonio Gisbert studied at the Academia de San Fernando, and in 1858 was awarded a bursary to study in Rome. This was also the year when he first exhibited his work; he showed his Death of Don Carlos at the exhibition of the national fine arts society of Madrid.
