Pierre Glaize was a pupil of his father, Auguste Barthélemy Glaize, and Gérome. He entered the École des Beaux-Arts on 31 March 1863 and was awarded an honourable mention in the competition for the Prix de Rome in 1866. He exhibited at the Salon
