Oswaldo Goeldi spent his childhood in Europe where he also studied, particularly in Switzerland. In 1919 he exhibited in Rio de Janeiro and took part in the São Paulo modern art week in 1922, a vast, revolutionary event aimed at showcasing the emerging Modernist movement.
