After studying law, Luis Gordillo began painting and from 1956 to 1958 he studied at the Santa Isabel de Hungría School of Fine Arts in Seville. From 1958 to 1961 he lived in France where he discovered Wols, Fautrier and Dubuffet. He also made a number of trips to London. In 1962
