Sir Theodore de Mayerne and Walpole both refer to Charles Green as being copyist to Charles I. His portrait of 1626 depicting Arthur Lake, bishop of Bath, hangs in New College, Oxford. He was renowned particularly for his copies of works by Albrecht Dürer.
