Born 14 November 1806, in Lyons; died 31 March 1880, in Lyons.

Painter. Religious subjects, portraits, genre scenes. Murals.

In 1818, Joseph Guichard entered the Lyons École des Beaux-Arts, where he studied under Étienne Rey and Pierre Révoil. From 1819, he studied at the Paris École des Beaux-Arts, where he worked with Ingres, while frequenting Delacroix' studio. He settled in Paris
