Auguste Hadamard studied under Paul Delaroche and featured at the Paris Salon between 1846 and 1880. Apart from his paintings, he is known for numerous lithographs which appeared in A History of Painters (Histoire des Peintres) and in the periodicals Magasin Pittoresque
