Walker Hancock won the Rome Prize of the Academy of Fine Art in Rome in 1925; he also won the Widener Prize and a gold medal at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Academy, the National Sculpture Society in New York and the Philadelphia Art
