Pierre Hébert studied under Jacquot, then joined the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris on 2 April 1831. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1839 to 1869. He was the father of Pierre Eugène and Hélène Hébert, both of whom he taught. Hélène was a talented sculptor who married the
