Born 5 May 1834, in Paris; died 5 October 1886, in Bois-le-Roi (Seine-et-Marne).

Sculptor.

Ernest Hiolle was a pupil of Jouffroy and Granfils, and entered the École des Beaux-Arts on 31 March 1853. He came second in the Prix de Rome competition of 1856 and won it in 1862. He was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1873. Hiolle began exhibiting
