French, 20th century, male.

Born 15 October 1925, in Nantes.

Sculptor. Figures, animals.

From 1948 to 1953, André Hogommat was a pupil of Marcel Gimond at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He is a figurative sculptor of the classical tradition and specialised in race horses. He does not however, define himself as an animal artist. For him, humans or horses are above all 'sculpted beings'.
