[not available online]Willem Hondius studied under his father Hendrik Hondius, and worked for a time in Holland before moving to Danzig, where he became court painter to Wladyslaw IV Vasa of Poland (r. 1632-48). His engravings are signed in Latin: Sculpted by Willem Hondius of The Hague
