Born 16 March 1829, in Munich; died 3 April 1871, in Munich.

Painter. Battles, local scenes, animals.

He was a pupil of Anschutz and Romberg at the academy in Munich, then of Albert Adam and Klaubach. In 1858, he was commissioned to paint the horses at the royal stables in Stuttgart. Subsequently he travelled to Italy and Algeria, returning with numerous studies.
