Andrei Petrovich Ekimov trained at the academy of art in St Petersburg. He was drawing instructor for the Cadet Corps. Among his known works are: Portrait of Prince Friedrich von Anhalt, Portrait of Pavel Krinitsky, the priest, Peter the Great Receiving a Petition Attached to the Collar of his Dog Lisette after I Akimov, Blessing
