According to Houbraken, Lambert Jacobsz. was born before 1600 and was probably a pupil of Rubens. He was a preacher in the reformed church. His son was Abraham Lambertsz., called Van den Tempel, and his pupils included Govaert Flinck and Jac-Backer.
