Louis Isidore Journot studied at the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs under Alphonse Lamotte. He became a member of the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris in 1904. Journot received a commendation in 1892, a bronze medal in 1893, a silver medal in 1897 and a travel bursary in 1899. He also exhibited at the
