Born 2 January 1753, in Augsburg; died May 1817, in St Petersburg.


Ignaz Sebastian Klauber was the son and pupil of Johann Baptist Klauber. He pursued his studies further in Rome and, from 1781, in Paris, where he was a pupil of Wille. In 1787, he became a member of the Académie Royale in Paris and engraver to the king.
