Anton Kozakiewicz trained the school of fine art in Cracow from 1859 to 1868, then studied with Engerthe in Vienna. In 1872 he left for Munich with a government grant. He was awarded medals at the Exhibitions in London and Lemberg (now Lviv), an honours certificate in Munich,
