Édouard Krug was a pupil of Léon Cogniet. He gained a third class medal in 1880 and a bronze medal in the Exposition Universelle of 1889. He became a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1897 and exhibited his work at the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
