Painter. History painting.

The son of Gerhard von Kügelgen, Wilhelm von Kügelgen studied under Hartmann, and in Dresden and Rome. He worked in Russia from 1827 and 1830, where he painted a Crucifixion for a church in Revel. He was appointed as a painter at the court of Duke
