Lasch was a pupil of Beudemann at the academy in Dresden and of Schnorr and Kaultach in Munich. A member of the academies of Dresden, Vienna and St Petersburg, he worked successively in Munich, Moscow, Italy and Paris. He later settled in Düsseldorf
