Born 28 June 1837, in Hof (Bavaria); died 31 May 1909, in Prague.
Painter. History painting.
Lauffer was a pupil of Ruben at the academy in Vienna and became professor at the German Polytechnic Institute in Prague in 1865. He exhibited in Dresden and Vienna around 1877 and is particularly noted for his Cervantes Slave in Algiers.
