Marthe Laurens was the wife of the sculptor Henri Laurens. In later years she successfully turned her hand to ceramics. She exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1920. There was an exhibition of her Cubist-inspired still-lifes which reflected her great admiration for Georges Braque.
