La Villette studied under the seascape painter Ernest Coroller, worked in Dubois' studio and met Corot. In 1888 she moved to the Quibéron peninsula. She was the sister of Caroline Espinet. La Villette exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français, receiving a third-class medal in 1875. She became
