Born 1744, in Pont-Audemer (Eure); died 1822, in Rouen.

Painter, draughtsman. Religious subjects, portraits, genre scenes, landscapes, seascapes.

Le Carpentier studied under Doyen and J. B. Descamps. He settled in Rouen and was a teacher there at l'École des Beaux-Arts. He was also a writer on art. He exhibited at the Salon de Paris in 1801 and 1802.
