[not available online]Hippolyte Lecomte studied under Henri Regnault and Antoine Mongin. He exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1804 to 1847, winning a first-class medal in 1808. He married the daughter of Carle Vernet, painter and lithographer of hunting and racing scenes
