Draughtsman, engraver.

Joachim Lelewel studied in Warsaw and Vilnius. After first teaching at the University of Vilnius, he became librarian at the University of Warsaw. He then settled in Brussels, where he became interested in numismatics and devoted himself to scientific writings, which he illustrated with etchings and wood engravings.
