Lommelin went to Antwerp to study art when he was very young and settled in the city. In 1654 he was Joseph Cossie's master there. In 1662 a Marc Lommelin, plaet drukker ('Marc Lommelin, printer') was recorded as being the son of the master of the Antwerp Guild. In particular
