Born 1527, in Flensburg (then in Denmark, now in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany); died according to Bryan's dictionary, after 1594.

Painter, engraver (burin/wood).

[not available online]Melchior Lorch made engravings of historical subjects and portraits. He visited Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Turkey, where he painted a portrait of the sultan. According to some biographers, he died in 1586.
