Ernest Stephen Lumsden was also known as a writer. He travelled widely, and produced topographic etchings of Paris, Edinburgh, Victoria, Spain, Beijing, Tokyo, Korea and Burma, often inspired by Indian art. He taught printmaking at Edinburgh College of Art and wrote a standard text
