Born 9 May 1840, in Siena; died 1919, in Rome.

Painter. History painting, genre scenes.

A student at the art academy in Siena, Maccari first showed work around 1865. He created many monuments in Italy and exhibited in Turin and Rome. He received a gold medal in 1889 at the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
