Painter, illustrator.

Henry Bainbridge McCarter studied in Philadelphia, and in Paris under the direction of Puvis de Chavannes, Bonnat and Toulouse-Lautrec. He was awarded a silver medal at the exhibition in St Louis in 1904, and other important distinctions subsequently.
