Carlo Marchionni was a pupil of Bargioni and was influenced by Michelangelo. In 1728 he won first prize at the Accademia di S Luca and in 1775 became its president. His sculptures are to be found in many Roman churches, including S Maria sopra Minerva, where in collaboration with Pietro
