Marie-Antoinette Marcotte was a pupil of J. Portaels at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Brussels around 1891, and also studied with E. Claus, and with Jules Lefevbre in Paris. She lived in Antwerp. In Paris she began exhibiting at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français in 1901,
