Born 1733, in Vienna; died 3 March 1808, in Rome.

Painter. Historical scenes, portraits, genre scenes.

Maron was the brother-in-law and pupil of Rafael Mengs. He went to Rome early on, and in 1766, became a member of the Accademia di San Luca. He became its director in 1784.
