Painter, engraver.

Giuseppe Mentessi studied at the Atheneum college in Ferrara, the academy of fine arts in Parma and at the Brera in Milan. He went on to teach at the Brera. He was awarded a silver medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris. Italian art criticism
