Painter (gouache), watercolourist, pastellist, engraver, draughtsman, lithographer. Religious subjects, landscapes.

The student of Camille Roqueplan and of Charles Ramelet, he exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon from 1844 to 1870, and was a member of the Société des Aquafortistes (the French society of etchers) from 1862 to 1865.
