Henri, the son of Gabriel de Montault, collaborated on the Journal pour Rire ('Newspaper for Laughs') and, in particular, the Vie Parisienne, where he published the highly successful Études sur la toilette. He also illustrated classic texts, notably Perrault's Contes ('Tales'), in 1865. Montault is also known for the composition
