Born 1818, in Iseo; died 16 October 1881, in London.

Sculptor.

Raffaelle studied under his father, the sculptor Gaetano Monti. He started sculpting very young and tasted early success when awarded a gold medal in Milan for his Alexander Taming Bucephalus. He lived in Venice from 1838 to 1842, and in 1848 travelled to England, where he made a name for himself
