Lucio Muñoz studied at the Academia de Bellas Artes in Madrid from 1949 to 1954 and worked with Eduardo Chicharro. He lived and worked in Madrid but travelled in Italy and England.

In the early part of his career he painted figures and crucifixions in a figurative style, but while staying in Paris he became influenced by Abstraction. From around
