Giuseppe Nogari was a pupil of Antonio Balestra and Giovanni Battista Pittoni, and earned himself a place among the captivating Venetian painters of the 18th century. He proved to be an excellent portrait painter, and produced quite remarkable copies after Raphael and Correggio. He was also director of the Accademia
