Eugène André Oudiné was taught by Galle, Petitot and Ingres. He won the Prix de Rome in 1831 for his engraved medals. He made his Salon debut in 1837, exhibiting Wounded Gladiator to great acclaim. After that he continued to exhibit sculptures and engravings. He won a medal in 1831, then
