Born 7 April 1817, in St Helier (Jersey), Channel Islands; died 22 June 1885, in St Helier.

Painter. Portraits, landscapes, seascapes.

After studying in Paris, Philip John Ouless returned to Jersey, where he lived for the rest of his life. He was the father of the painter Walter William Ouless. He illustrated three albums of Jersey.
