Pietro Paolini went to Rome when very young and was a pupil of Angelo Caroselli. After a stay of nearly 30 years he returned to Lucca and founded a school. Paolini seems to have been most inspired by Paolo Veronese. He decorated the library of San Ferdiano in this form. He also
