John Parker, who worked in London, began his studies by copying masters in the collection of the Duke of Richmond. In 1765-1766 he exhibited landscapes and flowers at the Free Society, then went to Rome in 1768 and returned to England in 1770. From 1771 to 1776 he exhibited historical landscapes at the Royal Academy, London.
